Final Bill

In short

The consolidated bill produced at discharge covering all services, less advances and adjustments, showing the net payable.

Billing & finance

The final bill is the consolidated statement generated when an inpatient is discharged, gathering every charge from the stay — room, procedures, pharmacy, investigations and professional fees — into one document. Advances already paid, any package rates, and authorised concessions are then applied to arrive at the net amount payable or refundable.

Why it matters in a hospital

The final bill is the moment a stay's real cost becomes concrete for the patient's family, and it is also where billing gaps show up most visibly — a service that was actually performed but never charged, or a discrepancy between what was quoted at admission and what's owed at discharge. Getting it right the first time avoids a difficult conversation, and a lost charge, at exactly the moment the family is trying to leave. Because it is generated at the most time-pressured moment of the whole stay, the final bill is also where a slow, manual compilation process costs the most — in staff time assembling it, and in the wait a tired family experiences right when they most want to leave.

How Trisvio handles it

Trisvio compiles the final bill automatically from the patient's accrued charges and ledger — room, pharmacy, procedures and fees — and gates discharge on it being settled, cleared, or explicitly waived by an authorised person, rather than letting a patient leave with an open, un-billed balance quietly outstanding. Because the bill draws on charges recorded throughout the stay rather than reconstructed at the end, the final total is available as soon as the clinical team confirms the patient is ready to go.
